May I bring a companion?

While we would love to welcome every wandering traveler and their companions, our guest list must remain carefully chosen to honor our venue’s limits and our budget.

If your invitation includes a plus one, they are most welcome to join the feast. If not, we kindly ask that only the names listed on your invitation attend.

Thank you for understanding — we cannot wait to celebrate with you.

May I bring my little warriors?

Where will the celebrations take place?

What armor should I wear?

AKA Dress code

For this celebration we have chosen to host an adults-only gathering (18+).

Our hope is that everyone can relax, celebrate freely, and enjoy a magical evening together.

We hope you’ll treat this as a wonderful excuse for a night off and join us for the festivities.

All festivities will take place at Stormsvlei Wedding Venue.

Guests joining us for the full weekend

You are welcome to arrive from Friday, 30 October, anytime from the afternoon onward.

That evening we will be hosting a relaxed braai, and we would love for you to join us as we begin the celebrations together.

Guests attending the ceremony on Saturday

If you are joining us for the wedding ceremony on Saturday, 31 October 2026, we kindly ask that you arrive at least one hour before the ceremony begins.

This will allow time for parking, settling in, and enjoying a welcome drink before the ceremony begins.

The exact ceremony time will be confirmed closer to the date.

Our celebration draws inspiration from the magic of enchanted forests and the spirit of Viking legends.

Guests are welcome to dress semi-formal or formal, whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident for the festivities.

For those adventurous spirits who wish to embrace the theme, feel free to lean into the magic — whether that means channeling your inner Viking warrior, a wandering forest guardian, or even a mystical woodland princess.

Our bridesmaids will also be embracing the theme, so you are very welcome to join in the fun.

The only rule of the realm:
Please do not wear white.

When should travelers arrive?

Can I take pictures?

Is there lodging for weary travelers?

Is there space for our horses and wagons? (Parking)

Are there rooms reserved for guests?

What happens if the skies open and rain falls?

By what date must I send word of my attendance?

What happens if I do not send word in time?

Can I change my RSVP if my plans change?

What will the weather be like?

Guests joining the full wedding weekend

You are welcome to arrive from Friday, 30 October, anytime from the afternoon onward.

That evening we will be hosting a relaxed braai, and we would love for you to join us as the celebrations begin.

Guests arriving for the ceremony

If you are attending the ceremony on Saturday, 31 October 2026, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.

This allows time for parking, finding your seat, and enjoying a welcome drink before the ceremony starts.

The exact ceremony time will be confirmed closer to the date, but arriving early will allow you to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings of Stormsvlei.

During the ceremony, we kindly ask that no cellphones or cameras be used at all. We’re having an unplugged ceremony so that everyone can be fully present in the moment with us. Our wonderful photographer, Linda, will be capturing everything ceremony-related, and we promise not a single special moment will be missed.

We would truly appreciate you keeping all phones and cameras in your pocket or bag during the ceremony and simply enjoying this meaningful time with us.

At the reception, YESSS!

We absolutely encourage you to take photos and have fun with it! We’ll even have some creative photo prompts to inspire you, and there will be prizes for things like the most photos taken, the most creative shot, and the best overall picture.

We’ve hired an incredible photography team to capture the day beautifully, and we’ll share the professional photos on this website afterward but we would also love to see the day through your eyes, so once the ceremony is over, snap away and celebrate with us!

Yes! For those journeying from afar, there are several places where travelers may rest.

Stormsvlei offers on-site accommodation, including guest rooms and riverside camping for those who wish to stay close to the festivities.

Alternatively, the nearby town of Riviersonderend, just 10 minutes away, offers additional accommodation options for guests.

Please visit the Accommodation & Map section of the website for a list of recommended places to stay.

You will also find the contact details for the venue coordinator / farm manager there should you wish to arrange accommodation directly at Stormsvlei.

Yes! There is plenty of parking available at the venue for all guests attending the celebration.

If you are staying in one of the cottages at Stormsvlei, parking is also available nearby for your convenience.

So fear not — there will be ample space for all travelers arriving to join the feast.

Rooms are limited, so we recommend booking early if you would like to stay on the property.

Our ceremony will take place beneath the forest canopy, where the towering trees provide beautiful natural shade and shelter.

However, should the weather decide to test us, the venue has a charming chapel ready as a backup location.

Either way, the ceremony will go on — rain or shine — and the celebration will continue.

Please let us know if you will be joining the celebration by 31 August 2026.

This allows us time to prepare the feast and inform our wonderful suppliers of the final number of guests attending the festivities.

If we do not receive your RSVP by 31 August 2026, we will sadly assume that you are unable to attend the celebration.

We would truly miss celebrating with you, but we are required to provide final guest numbers to the venue and our suppliers within the time given to us.

Of course! Life’s journeys can be unpredictable, and we completely understand that plans sometimes change.

If you need to update your RSVP, please let us know as soon as possible, preferably before 31 August 2026, so we can keep our numbers accurate.

You can simply return to the RSVP section on this website and update your response there.

Late October in the Western Cape is typically beautiful — expect mild to warm spring weather. Days are usually sunny with temperatures ranging between approximately 18–28°C, though evenings can cool down once the sun sets.

As we’ll be celebrating outdoors beneath the forest canopy, we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for later in the evening, just in case.

And, as with all great adventures, we’ll embrace whatever the day brings

The celebration continues for as long as you’re enjoying it — we are truly honoured to have you by our side. The venue will be open until 01:30am.

For the ceremony, please feel free to sit wherever you’re comfortable. At the reception, a seating chart will be displayed to guide you to your table.

We can’t wait to spend this special weekend with you!

Yes — we’re turning this into a full weekend celebration. Guests are welcome to arrive on Friday to settle in and enjoy the surroundings, with the main celebration on Saturday. Sunday will be a relaxed morning together before departures.

Of course! 📸 Tag your photos with #SteeleWedding2026 so we can relive all the magic.

You’ll also find a QR code and wedding link under the General section of this website where you can upload your amazing photos.

While our ceremony will be unplugged (we kindly ask that phones are kept away), our reception is completely camera-friendly! We’ll even have some fun photo prompts for you to try — we would love for you to capture the moments and upload them to the link.

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift, and we do not expect anything more. However, if you would like to contribute, we would be incredibly grateful for any support towards our honeymoon fund. No amount is too big or too small — we appreciate it all. Find the Registry information under the Registry Tab on the website.

We’re planning a delicious spit braai with a variety of salads and vegetables. A full menu breakdown will be shared under the General Info section on the website closer to the time.

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please include these in your RSVP so we can ensure you are well catered for.

Please feel free to reach out to either Nicole or Gavin — our contact details can be found under the General section of the website.
